Columbia Heights home prices rise in the fourth quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2018 in Columbia Heights rose by $11,050 while total sales increased by 19.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2018, there were 98 homes sold, with a median sale price of $195,000 - a 6% increase over the $183,950 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 82 homes sold in Columbia Heights in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Columbia Heights for 2018 was $2,326. In 2014, the median sales tax was $1,588. This marks an increase of 46.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.2%.
