Columbus home prices fall in the fourth quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2018 in Columbus fell by $72,250 while total sales decreased by 60%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2018, there were four homes sold, with a median sale price of $236,500 - a 23.4% decrease over the $308,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 10 homes sold in Columbus in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Columbus for 2018 was $3,246. In 2014, the median sales tax was $2,762. This marks an increase of 17.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.4%.
