CITY OF ANDOVER: City Council Vacancy In Response To Council Member Mike Knights Resignation

Vacancies

City of Andover issued the following announcement on March 5

In response to Council Member Mike Knights resignation announcement effective March 2, 2020, the Andover City Council has officially declared a vacancy at the regular City Council meeting on March 2, 2020. Now that a vacancy is declared, the City Council must appoint an eligible person to fill the rest of his term expiring January 5, 2021.  This council seat will be on the ballot with the November 2020 General Election.

In an effort to minimize the amount of time Councilmember Knight’s seat may be vacant, the City Council would like to start the process of receiving applications of Andover residents interested in being considered to be appointed to the City Council, serving until January 5, 2021, when the results of the November 2020 General Election will go into effect.

If you are interested in being considered for appointment to the City Council please submit a letter of interest and resume or curriculum vitae, to be received by the City by 12:00 p.m.(noon), Friday, March 27th.  The Andover City Council will review the applications March 31st and then conduct interviews on April 6th, if necessary, before making an appointment to fill the vacant seat.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jim Dickinson, City Administrator, at 763-767-5110, or j.dickinson@andovermn.gov.

Please submit all required materials via email to: d.makinen@andovermn.gov
