The Anoka County library system has a new interim director.

Patti Hetrick was appointed interim director by the Anoka County Board after Maggie Snow resigned in February.

Snow resigned after taking a job with the state-funded information and resource sharing program Minitex. The program is an effort of the Minnesota Office of Higher Education and the University of Minnesota Libraries.

Hetrick has been the budget director for Anoka County since 2008. Deputy County Administrator Dee Guthram said that the county will not find a temporary replacement for Hetrick as budget director while she is overseeing the library system.

“Patti volunteered for the library position to step in and keep it running,” Guthram said.

Guthram said that it may be several months before a permanent director is hired for the libraries. First, the county intends to fully-implement a 2014 memorandum of understanding between the county and the library system.
