CITY OF ANOKA: Response to Coronavirus

Coronavrus

City of Anoka issued the following announcement on March 17

The City of Anoka is actively engaged with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and local and regional partners with regard to the state and local response to the COVID-19 virus. City officials have been monitoring the situation. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect residents, customers, and city employees, the Anoka City Council has declared a local state of emergency through April 6, 2020.

All city buildings (City Hall, Public Safety, Public Works, Anoka Municipal Utility, Anoka Senior Center and Green Haven Event Center) will be closed to the public effective immediately, March 17, 2020, with the exception of the Better Values Liquor Stores. Employees at those stores have been advised to regularly wash their hands, disinfect areas, and use social distancing when interacting with customers.

In addition to buildings being closed to the public, the City Council has canceled its March 23rd worksession meeting, city events and meetings, and all Boards & Commissions meetings through April 6th, at which time the City Council will meet to reevaluate the situation and determine whether or not to extend the state of emergency.
