With shelves emptied in stores across the country, many people are left wondering if they will be able to get their hands on the essential items during these critical times, including hand sanitizer.
This is also true for the people of Anoka County. To help bring peace of mind to the people, over 400 gallons of hand sanitizer was given out for free during the Anoka County Fair on March 23.
People were able to bring their own bottles to fill up, and simply pull up to receive their free hand sanitizer.
“I brought this gallon because I’m trying to get as much as I can because I want to deliver it to the daycare down the road,” said one of the drivers in a WCCO CBS 4 video.
With cleaning supplies, including hand sanitizer becoming more scarce, both in stores and online, the free giveaway was a lifesaver for some.
“I definitely can’t get it anywhere else online so definitely doing what we got to do today,” said another driver.
Although no future dates have been set, the organizers do plan to do another free hand sanitizer giveaway in the future.
