Anoka County has made several changes to services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to news releases issued on April 8 and 9.

The first service change of note by the Anoka County Board of Commissioners is that the Anoka County Library System will allow curbside pickup of library items after patrons place holds on their items.

Patrons can place holds on items at anokacounty.us/1758/libraries, and will be prompted to choose from three locations:

  • Northtown Library, 711 County Hwy. 10, in Blaine
  • Rum River Library, 4201 6th Ave., in Anoka
  • Johnsville Library, 12461 Oak Park Blvd., in Blaine
Once items are ready, patrons will need to call the curbside phone number to arrange for pickup. That number is 763-324-1595.

The libraries will not accept book returns at non-curbside locations, and there will be no late fees issued while the libraries are closed to the public.

Another change is that the county will accept paperwork for vehicle tab renewals, property tax documents, child support and economic assistance applications, at three locations:

  • Anoka County Government Center, 2100 3rd  Ave., in Anoka
  • Blaine Human Services Center, 89th Ave., NE
  • Ramsey City Hall, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW (use the drive through behind the building on Veterans Drive.
There are two locations that are only accepting tab renewals:

  • Coon Rapids License Center, 455 99th Ave., NW #100B
  • Blaine License Center, 10995 Club W Parkway, NE #700a
Residents using the drop boxes for tab renewals should include in the envelope: insurance information, a check with their driver’s license number and phone number, and both halves of the pre-bill from the state. Residents who do not have the renewal slip mailed from the state or have a change of address should follow instructions at anokacounty.us/license.
