Minnesota Sen. Roger Chamberlain issued a statement calling on Gov. Tim Walz to reopen the state's economy.
Chamberlain's statement said the state understood the restrictions at the beginning of the pandemic, but that time is now over.
“Enough is enough," Chamberlain said in a press release from the Minnesota State Republican Caucus. "At the beginning of this whole thing we understood the restrictions Gov. Walz put in place — especially with the limited information available at the time. It’s time to be done. Florida is fine. Georgia is fine. All of our neighboring states are open, flourishing and not having problems."
Chamberlain said in the release that it's time to let people go back to their lives and the government needs to stop controlling people.
“It’s time for Gov. Walz to throw out all the dials, knobs, levers and switches, stop micromanaging people’s lives, and put his focus where it needs to be: Long-term care," Chamberlain said in the press release. "He has completely and utterly failed at protecting those facilities, and he will carry that shame with him long after he is out of office if he doesn’t get it turned around soon.”
