Brookside Elementary School issued the following announcement on June 25.

Anoka-Hennepin Community Education aquatics staff have been busy training on how to safely lead instruction and fulfill lifeguarding duties while social distancing, and we have added more aquatic programming to our schedule in the upcoming weeks.

Aquatic programs have been modified in response to COVID-19 and the number of participants in each class is limited; we ask that only one adult accompany each child for observation to minimize the number of people in the pool and on the pool deck or bleachers. Staff will also be cleaning all aquatic equipment including kick boards or diving rings between uses.

Swimmers should come dressed, ready to swim; and should bring a towel and comfortable clothing to wear over swimwear after programs - as current health and safety guidelines do not allow for use of locker rooms for changing. Swimmers will be asked to enter the pool deck through the locker room to shower in swimwear prior to entering the pool.

Youth swimming lessons, adult shallow water fitness classes and lap swim passes have been added to registration options (pre-registration is required). Read more, and register online: https://bit.ly/2ZgsREO
