City Of Anoka issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.
Rum River Art Center has given the City this beautiful mural which is hanging in the lobby of Anoka City Hall.
In 2019, it held its first 62-hour nonstop art marathon to raise money for its non-profit art center. A group of artists worked on this mural depicting Anoka places of interest. The goal was to inform residents about the art center and its connection with the city of Anoka. They ultimately raised almost $8,000 to purchase a kiln for their ceramic studio.
Thank you to the following artists, creators of the mural.
Larry Weinberg, Paul Boecher, Patti Hartwell, Deb Kirkeeide, MaryLeah Marshall, Barb Lewis, Tom Pace, Pam Devine, Greg Gilborne, Kurt Ulrich, Jan Johansen and Mark Hagemeyer.
