CITY OF CENTERVILLE: Blue Green Algae Advisory - Centerville Beach Closed

Algae

City of Centerville issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.

Due to a possible Blue Green Algae bloom, Centerville Beach is closed to swimming activities. During routine monitoring, parks staff identified an area that appears to be a blue green algae bloom and provided a sample to the watershed district which felt that is was most likely blue green algae. Since blue green algae can be toxic to humans and pets, the swimming beach is closed until further notice.
