Democratic incumbent Jerry Newton has been re-elected as Senator for House District 37. Newton was seeking re-election against Republican Brad Sanford.
Newton thanked his supporters on Facebook.
“Thank you, Blaine, Coon Rapids and Spring Lake Park! Your continued support in re-electing me to the MN Senate means a lot.
“In all my years of campaigns from school board to city council to the legislature, this was by far the most strange. I missed seeing you at parades and our conversations at the doors but I am thankful for those of you I was able to reach via telephone and email. If we didn’t have a chance to connect, please reach out at any time. I enjoy hearing from constituents. You can find my info on my website, www.jerrynewton.us
“To my family, campaign team and loyal volunteers: we did it! Thanks for sticking with me again. Your dedication, talents and support keeps me moving,” he wrote.
