Republican John Heinrich was re-elected to the House District 35A seat, defeating opponent Mike Erickson.
The following is an appreciation statement he posted on Facebook.
“Thank you to the voters of district 35A Ramsey and Anoka for sending me back to the Minnesota House of Representatives.”
Erickson congratulated Heinrich on the win on Facebook.
“While we didn’t get the result we hoped for, it wasn’t for lack of trying or lack of dedication,” he wrote on Facebook. “The best and most humbling part of the experience was the many many volunteers and donors who gave of their time, talent, and treasure because they believed in me! Thank you. I especially want to thank Sue Dergantz, campaign manager, Jim Schagh, campaign finance manager, Lauren Cains, volunteer director, and Laura Kastenbauer, communications director - four amazing people!
“I also want to thank the voters in the district - by my calculation we had an 87.5% voter turnout, that’s huge. Thank you for participating! I congratulate John on his win. The election is over and the hard work is really just beginning - work hard for all of the people in the district and good luck!”
