BLAINE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: Unemployment benefits extended to students, apply by Dec. 25

Blaine Senior High School issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.

Unemployment benefits extended to students, apply by Dec. 25

Minnesota high school age students who lost a job because of COVID-19 now have the ability to apply for unemployment benefits. Step-by-step details on the process to apply are included on the Youthprise website: https://youthprise.org/mn-youth-unemployment-information/. The application deadline is Dec. 25, and the benefits are retroactive.

The Minnesota Court of Appeals ruled on Dec. 1 that unemployment benefits should be extended to students during COVID-19 using the Federal CARES Act funding.
