City Of Anoka issued the following announcement on Dec. 30.
1. City crews will plow all city streets and will clear sidewalks in the Central Business District after a 2” snowfall. After a 3” snowfall, city crews will “assist” in clearing residential sidewalks as time allows, but it is the property owner’s responsibility to clear the sidewalk and walkways of snow and ice on their property.
2. Please place your garbage and recycling carts BEHIND the curb or on your driveway on your service day. Carts should NOT be placed in the street. This is not only helpful to snow plow drivers and others passing by, but also helps protect your carts from damage.
3. With the snow piling up, our snow plow drivers would like to remind everyone that snow forts built at the end of driveways in residential areas can create a dangerous situation for children and snowplow drivers. Therefore, for safety reasons, we ask parents - PLEASE do not allow your children to build snow forts near the roadway. We appreciate all of your help!
