Garden City Elementary School: March Vaccine Clinic for K-12 Families

1

Garden City Elementary School issued the following announcement on March 17.

Parents/guardians with students in grades K-12 (ages 5+),

We are reaching out to students and families who are considering becoming vaccinated against COVID-19.  Osseo Area Schools will be offering the Pfizer vaccine series for our K-12 students (ages 5+) and their parents/guardians. Vaccine doses for 5-11, 12-15, and 16+ will all be available. While we are focused on accessibility for students in our schools, we know that opportunities for the entire family are important. All family members aged 5+ can be vaccinated at this event on a first-come, first-served basis. Pfizer and Moderna vaccines/booster shots will also be available for adult family members. This is a walk-in only event. No advanced appointments will be taken. A consent form will be required and will be provided.

The following dates/times are currently being offered:

The first clinic was March 2, but all (ages 5+) are welcome to attend this clinic regardless of whether they attended the first clinic. If you come for your first vaccine, you will receive assistance in finding a location for your second vaccine. Pfizer and Moderna available, as appropriate. Pfizer and Moderna vaccines requires two doses to be most effective and a parent or legal guardian is required to be present for both vaccine administrations. The vaccines are free to Minnesotans. Insurance is also not required to participate, and interpreters for Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Vietnamese will be available.

If you have questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, your pediatrician or family physician can be an excellent source of information. Check out the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention websites for further details.

MDH is also available to help answer any questions at 833-431-2053 (English, Español, Soomaali, Hmoob).

Thank you for your continued help in creating safe school environments.
