New transportation opt-in procedure

9

On Tuesday, April 26, Osseo Area Schools sent an email to transportation eligible families detailing a new process that will require parents/caregivers of transportation eligible students to declare how their student will be getting to and from school. At least 5000 responses have been received. If you have not had time to respond, please use the attached QR code to access the form or visit district279.org/transportation for information regarding this process.

If you feel you should have received an email, but did not, please check all your inbox folders. There are some issues affecting Gmail accounts that may have the email in a “Promotions” folder.

The deadline for submissions for existing students is June 1. Any student that does indicate transportation is needed, via this form, will not receive a busing assignment for the 2022-23 school year.

As a reminder, this process does not change eligibility. All transportation eligible students in grades Kindergarten and above to complete this form. PreK students do not need to submit a form. PreK student’s transportation will be requested through their program. With this new process there is no additional forms needed for daycare or open enrollment transportation needs. Families needing shared custody busing accommodations will still need to call the transportation department. If you need any assistance with this process, please contact transportation at 763-391-7244 or email BusQuestions@District279.org.
