The Coon Rapids City Council has adopted the preliminary tax levy for 2023. The preliminary tax levy for next year has been set at $33.3 million, which is a 7.5% increase from the 2022 tax levy. While it can't be increased, the tax levy can be decreased before final adoption in December.
Goals to be achieved with the 2023 Budget include:
- Continue with long-term strategic staffing plans that enhance public safety due to increasing call volumes.
- Secure water resources by replacing an aging water tower.
- Continue with capital investments in infrastructure, equipment and technology.
- Maintain strong core services.
