Nolan West, a Minnesota state legislator, addressed misinformation and political rhetoric in a series of posts on his X (formerly Twitter) account between September 17 and September 19, 2025.

On September 17, West disputed claims circulating online about the political affiliation and circumstances surrounding Boelter. He wrote, "This post is nonsense.

#1 Boelter was definitely not a Democrat.

#2 he was appointed to a board so thats true but it wasn't a partisan position

#3 she was not murdered for siding with Republicans. That is completely fabricated.

It feels like its radical to not be a lunatic..." In this post, West refuted assertions regarding Boelter's party alignment and the motivations behind her death.

Two days later, on September 19, West commented on the impact of divisive language in politics. He stated, "This absurd rhetoric gets people killed, and destroys our country. Its depressing so many politicians can't understand they despite the immediate evidence." Later that day, he posted a brief correction: "That* "

West’s comments reflect ongoing debates over misinformation and heated discourse in American politics. As public officials face increasing scrutiny over their statements online and offline, concerns have grown about the consequences of false information and inflammatory rhetoric in shaping public opinion and safety.
