Representative Bryan Lawrence issued a statement on June 14, 2025, addressing recent violent events in Minnesota. He expressed condolences to the families and friends of Speaker-Emeritus Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, who were affected by what he described as a "senseless act of violence."

Lawrence also asked for thoughts and prayers for Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, as they continue to receive medical care. He said, "We are all hoping and praying for their full recovery."

In his statement, Lawrence commented on the risks associated with public service. "Public service should never come with this kind of risk. In times like these, may we come together as Minnesotans to support one another and stand united in the face of tragedy," he stated.
