The regular legislative session in Minnesota ended on May 19, but preparations are underway for a special session. The exact date for the special session has not yet been announced. Working groups had until Wednesday at 7 p.m. to finalize their bills after extensive negotiations on complex issues. Legislative leadership and the governor will now be responsible for completing any remaining work and bringing forward agreements during the upcoming special session.

Representative Bryan Lawrence of House District 27B commented on the ongoing process: "There has been a lot of action behind the scenes to wrap up negotiations and we are now preparing for a special session, though the exact date has yet to be announced. There is still a lot of work to be done before the state’s business is fully wrapped up."

Lawrence also acknowledged community events he attended recently, including the Zimmerman Wild West Day parade and Memorial Day service in Princeton. He expressed appreciation for community volunteers and honored military service members: "It was a solemn and meaningful reminder of the sacrifices made by so many brave men and women in uniform. I want to sincerely thank every service member, past and present, who has defended our nation and preserved our freedom. It’s vital that we honor and remember those who gave everything so we could live in liberty."

He provided updates at a local Isanti BPOU meeting, discussing legislative progress with residents and answering questions about district and state issues.

Lawrence concluded by encouraging constituents to stay informed as developments continue regarding the special session.
