Minnesota State Representative Harry Niska has issued a response following the release of an Office of the Legislative Auditor (OLA) report, which identified financial mismanagement within Governor Tim Walz’s office.

In his statement, Niska criticized the governor's handling of state finances. “It’s no wonder that when the state is swimming in billions of dollars lost to fraud, Governor Walz can’t even manage the finances of his own office. It has become clear to Minnesotans that the culture of mismanagement and fraud in state government starts with the governor himself," said Niska.

He further called for greater transparency regarding how public funds are used by the governor’s office. "Taxpayers deserve full transparency and accountability, including clear answers about whether any of these funds were used to host campaign events or political activities at the Governor's Mansion.”

The OLA report highlighted concerns about oversight and record-keeping practices in relation to expenditures from the governor’s office, raising questions about compliance with state policies.
