How did Anoka-Hennepin Public School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Reading tests?

Anoka-Hennepin Public School District ranked first in the Anoka County for test participation, with 18,686 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Anoka-Hennepin Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 13% over the previous year.

Anoka-Hennepin Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 55% in 2021-22 school year.

Sixth grade students stood out with 21% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, third grade students had the most room for improvement, with 33% not meeting the expected standards.

Anoka-Hennepin Public School District encompasses schools within Anoka County and has a main office in Anoka.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
