City of Andover issued the following announcement on Oct. 21.
The drum removal portion of the WDE Landfill project is complete. There is still a significant amount of project work to complete, but this significant milestone has been achieved safely. Following the drum disposal and pit soil removal/disposal, the pit subsoil excavation will be completed. The pit subsoil excavation will likely begin within a couple of weeks. The temporary enclosure will remain in place with vapor controls and perimeter air monitoring until all excavation work is completed and the pit excavation is backfilled. Clean Harbors is currently planning to have this portion of the work completed by 11/30/2019.
