CITY OF ANOKA: Pumpkin Smash

Pumpkinsmash

City of Anoka issued the following announcement on Oct. 29.

The City of Anoka’s Waste Reduction & Recycling Board is hosting a Pumpkin Smash Event (composting) on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 9-11 a.m. at Rick Sorenson Park (2015 State Ave.). “Don’t Trash it, Smash it” and help divert pumpkins from the landfill!

Green your Halloween and bring your pumpkins and smash them into the composting dumpster. PLEASE, remove all decorations, candles, etc. beforehand.

Sip on complimentary hot apple cider (while supplies last) in compostable cups.  UPDATE:  Due to the cold and damp weather, the pumpkin bounce house will NOT be present.  We apologize for this, but it is best for safety reasons and to prevent damage to it.

See the new Anoka Halloween Ambassadors and while there, capture pics at our selfie station and post to social media using #anokapumpkinsmash!

Don’t miss out on this environmentally-friendly and family-friendly event.

Visit ci.anoka.mn.us or call 763-576-2725 for more information.
