City of Anoka issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.
Hwy 47/Ferry St. closed around 10:30 a.m. this morning between Pleasant St. and Garfield St. in Anoka so crews from the BNSF Railway can make emergency repairs to the railroad crossing. A broken rail was reported shortly after 7 a.m. this morning at the crossing located just north of Hwy. 10. The highway is expected to reopen to traffic at approximately 5 p.m. this evening. During the closure, motorists are advised to use alternate routes if possible to avoid congestion and delays.
