Fridley United Methodist Church issued the following announcement on July 13.
NEW THIS YEAR!
We will not collect school supplies and backpacks this year as it would be difficult to shop for the supplies as well as put the backpacks together with the COVID restrictions. We are asking FUMC family and friends for monetary donations only this year which will then go to the Fridley school district to purchase supplies online in bulk. The school district needs the money by August 1 in order to have time to purchase the supplies for their Drive-by School Supply Pick-up near the end of August. Please have your donation to the church by Tuesday, July 28. Thank you for serving the children and families in our community.
