City of Blaine issued the following announcement on Sept. 22.
Many Blaine residents live in an area with lots of trees in their yard. As the leaves from the trees turn color and fall, they provide both a beautiful show and require plenty of cleanup. Please keep in mind that all decaying plant material that ends up in the city’s ponds and streams contributes to greater phosphorous loads and poorer water quality. Please do not rake leaves into the street.
Drop-Off Options
Residents may bring leaves and grass to the Anoka County compost sites. The hours for the sites are:
- Bunker Hills site (Hanson Blvd. 1 mile north of County Road 14 in Coon Rapids), Monday through Friday from 10AM to 7PM or sundown, whichever is first; Saturday from 9AM – 5PM; and Sunday Noon -5PM.
- Lino Lakes site (County Road 14 to the east of I-35W), Tuesday and Thursday from 10AM to 7PM or sundown, whichever is first; Saturday from 9AM – 5PM; and Sunday Noon -5PM.
