The Major Remodeling Grant can help you make big changes. Grants are issued as reimbursements of 5 to 15 percent of the project cost, up to $7,500. Applicants must have a signed grant agreement with the City prior to starting the project. Eligible homes are at least 30 years old, have a value under $400,000, and are owner occupied.
Eligible projects must include a major remodeling project, such as an addition, major kitchen remodel, finishing a basement, or adding a sunroom, and must have a total project cost of at least $35,000. To receive the maximum reimbursement, projects must also include exterior upgrades such as permanent landscaping, adding a covered front porch, or adding brick accents.
