As the temperature rises and our gardens and lawns thirst for hydration, it's important for us to come together as a community and follow the annual lawn sprinkling restrictions. Every year the City implements time and date restrictions for lawn sprinkling. In 2023 the following will be in place:

  • Year-round, odd-even sprinkling. Residents with an even-numbered address can water on even number days. Residents with an odd-numbered address can water on odd-number days.
  •  From May 15 until September 15, no sprinkling is allowed between 10AM and 6PM. This is the hottest part of the day and most water is lost to evaporation.
This policy is in place to help conserve water during high demand periods and also can provide for a better lawn by not over watering. There are a few exceptions to the restrictions, including newly planted sod and seed. For more information, visit BlaineMN.gov/LawnSprinkling.
