Nolan West, a Minnesota state legislator, made several statements on his Twitter account in early August 2025 addressing political groups, cannabis legalization, and children’s media.

On August 2, 2025, West commented on two political organizations by stating: "The Democratic Socialists and Action 4 Liberty are two sides of the same coin. Detached from reality and harmful to the movements they support."

Later that day, he addressed the topic of cannabis legalization with another post: "This isn't from legalization, this is because cannabis usually gets legalized by Democrat trifectas who run their states into the ground while they're at it."

On August 3, 2025, West discussed changes in children's programming consumption habits and corporate involvement in public broadcasting. He wrote: "I get the whole nostalgia thing with PBS, but kids don't watch PBS anymore. They watch Ms. Rachel. Also, Sesame Street isn't owned by PBS. It's owned by Sesame Workshop and will continue to exist. It has plenty of major corporate donors."

PBS is a non-profit public broadcaster in the United States that distributes educational programming but does not own "Sesame Street." The show is produced by Sesame Workshop, an independent nonprofit organization which receives funding from various sources including corporate sponsorships.
